Soft Tennis
I have played soft tennis since I was a junior high school student; now I belong to the soft tennis club at Mie University. I play it on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. There are matches in Mie prefecture at least once a month; four matches take place in May.
There is a difference between tennis and soft tennis. In tennis, the balls used by the players are yellow and very hard. In soft tennis, by contrast, the players use balls which are white and made of rubber. While tennis is spread all over the world, especially America and Europe, Soft tennis is played only in Asia, especially Japan and Taiwan.
Since what I play is soft tennis, I hope that many more people will play it.
Playing sports has at least three advantages. First, of course, moderate exercise is good for one's health. Second, it is interesting to see improvement of one's skills. I always confine my efforts to a limited purpose, for example, "I want to win the next match." When I achieve the goal, I am very happy. Finally, people who play sports can have many friends in many places. They can talk about sports or other common hobbies with each other.
I really like soft tennis. Unipyon, which is similar to tennis but easier, is also OK!
I want to see you playing soft tennis and want you to teach me how to play it! I played it only once and it was difficult for me. The teacher didn't show us how to do it at all. She just handed the rackets and balls to the students and said, 'Play it.' Oh... I didn' like her, of course.
Though I'm not good at playing sports, I enjoy playing unipyon, a kind of ball game. A week ago I played it with some of my classmates. It was the first time to play it for most of them, and they seemed to like it, too!
I've never belonged to any sports clubs and now I regret it a little. These days I feel that I have no staying power. Maybe I should have done some sports. Now I'm very thankful to my classmates for giving me opportunities to play sports. Please show me how to play soft tennis some day in near future, Ayumi-san!
Thank you for your responses, Masami-san and Yukiko-san.
Playing soft tennis is more difficult than tennis. If you play tennis, using a yellow ball, you do not have to hit the ball very hard; tennis balls fly easily. On the other hand, if you play soft tennis, you have to hit hard and drive a ball. Soft tennis balls fly by hitting and spinning.
I like soft tennis because you have to think and read the opponents' mind. I always have to guess where an opponent will shoot a ball, then move and hit the ball in order to score. That is fun for me.
Whenever you want me to teach you soft tennis, I am glad to do it. I am kind, so I will not just hand you a racket and a ball and say "Play it."
I want to start an Unipyon club. Then we can meet up and play Unipyon together. Of course we can get some exercise.

Hey, that's exactly what I do!
I like her already.

Hey, Ruedi. You are not like her, because you teach me how to write, make a hyperlink and put images on the web.
I want to make tawawa a little more familiar and friendlier. I want to write about something interesting or special in daily life.
I agree with you, Ayumi-san. I often have difficulties to choose a topic for posting on Tawawa. I would like to write freely about anything in our daily lives, like our group notebook. If this weblog were such a thing, everyone I think might post more.
What is the difference between soft tennis and tennis? And is soft-tennis easier to play or is tennis easier to play?
I didn't know that soft tennis was played only in Asian countries. I'm very surprised to hear that.
By the way, I heard that your tennis club won the 5th prize in the tennis match. Congratulations! I hope you'll win the next match.

I know you are a very good tennis player but I didn't know that soft tennis is played only in particular places. That's new information for me!
Anyway, about a month ago, I played soft tennis for the first time, although I played tennis in PE classes when I was a high school student. Then I heard that playing soft tennis is more difficult for beginners than playing tennis. Actually, I didn't find much difference between them. Am I a horribly bad player? But for good players like you, the two games may be different to play in some respects. Why do you prefer soft tennis?
