I added the ゼミノート link to the Tawawa front page; this may bring a few more visitors. I'm also going to add a note somewhere, saying that all students at the Department can get a ゼミノート account (including those who do not take the Comp III class), and that they only need to send me a request via e-mail.
I stole 名前, メールアドレス, コメントを書き込む and 名前、アドレスを登録しますか? from other sites. I'm naughty like that; I hope it's all correct, though. Now I need Japanese translations for:

I think these translation into Englidh is all correct! And Japanese translation I made is below.

Thanks, Masami! I applied all your translations to the page template. If there are objections or "better ideas", I can still change them.
One more refinement, maybe: I'd love to make the user names Japanese (which you should be able to do in the comments, anyway), but for those of you with posting rights to the English Weblog, that isn't feasible unless you'd use your non-romaji names in the English Weblog as well, but that would be a bit tough on visitors who don't read Japanese.
I could give you two two user accounts, one romaji, one non-romaji, but that would mean you'd have to log in for each weblog separately. That's too bothersome, so I guess you're stuck with the romanised version.
What I could do, however, is change the "on" in the 最近のコメント sidebar section. The variables {comment author} and {post title} are pulled from the database, the "on" between these two variables is pulled from the page template. I'd like to replace the "on" with a Japanese word.
Any suggestions? The order of the two variables could be reversed, if need be. Assuming that "xyz" is the Japanese translation for "on", the order could either be:
{comment author} xyz {post title}
or:
{post title} xyz {comment author}
Er, make sense?
Here's another idea: Masami, why don't you take charge of the authors? I've just given you permission to edit Authors & Permissions, which means that you can create new authors here on ゼミノート. All you need to do is assign a user ID and a password, then send the information to the new author and advise that person to change the password.
To advertise this, we'll need another brief text for the sidebar. Something like this:

For those of you who missed the information first time round: Masami and Hiroko are moderatators here on ゼミノート: they can edit and delete everything anyone posts, entries as well as comments. The moderators over at the Group Weblog are Ayumi and Yukiko. Moderators are fierce people: if provoked unreasonably, they bite. So watch out, everybody else!

I think "{comment author}さんから{post title}" is possible. On some Japanese bulletin boards I found "{comment author}さん {post title}に返信", but the latter might be too complicated, so the former may be better. However, someone may have a better idea, then I'll ask my friends about it.

As for me, it's OK if everyone allows me to be in the charge.

I made your name into a "mailto" link using this encoding method, which should protect the address from being scraped by spam bots.
I'll add the other changes soon.
I've just discovered a Movable Type feature which could be used to display Japanese user names in this weblog and English user names in the other. The user profile page has an input field for "nickname", and if everyone entered their name in Japanese there, I could easily tell the system to display that "nickname" as an entry's author.
The trouble with this approach is that it doesn't work unless everyone has a "nickname", and the user's password is needed if one wants to enter it. As everyone has probably changed their password since I first issued the accounts, this means that we'd have to ask everyone to open their user profile and input the Japanese version of their name.
I'll leave it up to you to decide if it's worth the effort.

I've just transferred the message to the top of the sidebar.
The stars bother me a bit because I don't think they're particularly good typography. Can I put line breaks there instead? And at the end of each sentence there would probably have to be a period. So here's my suggestion:
